Welcome to My World of Beauty

Welcome to My World of Beauty

Welcome to AlyCats M&H blog. Dedicated to all that is beautiful.

A balance of looking good on the outside and feeling good on the inside is essential to a healthy long life.
(that’s just my advice, and I’m usually right!)

This blog will be written with everything beauty in mind. I’m super excited to start this blog! I’m hoping that this will help me interact with all the beauty lovers out there and to gain some fans in the process! I also love writing, it’s simply another creative release for me.

I have so many tips and tricks that I can’t wait to share . I have reviews and recommendations on products. We can go to the makeup counters together!(virtually of course)
I’ll update you on AlyCat’s recent and future works and share my opinions on celebrity looks and wedding advice.

For my first blog I will start by answering a few questions about M&H on your wedding day, or for any Catwalk Event.

P.S. please click subscribe. See you at the beauty counter ;)

Frequently Asked Questions About Makeup & Hair On Your Wedding Day

What brands of makeup and hair products does Alycat M&H use?

Alycat’s Cats believe in only using professional products on their clients. We have tried and tested many brands of makeup and hair products and continue testing new lines as they come out. We attend the hair shows such as the ABA and makeup shows such as IMATS to help keep us up to date with what’s new in the beauty world. I always find something new I can’t live without. My makeup kit is forever growing.

I use mostly Mac Cosmetics, Too Faced, OCC, Graftobian Cosmetics and my own brand called AlyCat (professional line) however there is always something new in my makeup kit. As for my tools they are a mix of MAC brushes and professional bdellium brushes (which are antibacterial and happen to be my most loved brushes, they’re just so irresistibly soft)
I will analyze your skin to determine which line or which mixture to use to complete your look.

As for hair, Mandy and I both love nothing more then testing new hair products, it’s just plain fun! However we only test out professional products (for many reasons, which we will discuss in a later blog post.)
We both use and love Schwarzkopf Professional styling products. They have a full line that covers everything you need, be it hold, shine, volume or texturing products they harness the pure power from nature to give us the freedom to style your hair the way you want!

When should I book my pre-wedding M&H trial?

As soon as possible and we will can schedule it for 2 – 3 weeks prior to your wedding day.
Mandy & I prefer to do the M&H trail together. It gives Mandy & I a chance to brain storm together, helps get the creative juices flowing.

What preparation should I do to my skin prior to my wedding day?

The smoother your skin is the day of your services, the better. It will give me a pure blank canvas to work on. Makeup has twice the holding power and definitely a more flawless look when your skin is regularly exfoliated. This will give you a better result on your wedding day.
Use a gentle skin exfoliant to remove any old skin cells and smooth out imperfections. Exfoliants can be used up to 2 times per week. (read the instructions on your product)
Please be careful not to over exfoliate as this can dry out your skin and leave the skin tender and red.

What preparation should I do to my hair prior to my wedding day?

For up-dos you hair should be ‘dirty’. The oils from the night before helps the pins stay in the hair and keeps the up-do sturdy. It will also allow for more height. If your hair is freshly washed the pins will not hold easily. You can risk the chance that your hair will be too silky and smooth to hold your desired style, even with the best hairspray. We recommend you wash your hair the day before your appointment.

For hair that will be down or 1/2 up, keep it clean. When the hair style is down your hair should be clean and shiny. We will use professional product to style and hold your look.

Whether your style will be up, 1/2 up or down please don’t show up with hair more than 2 days unwashed!

Waxing, when do I get facial waxing done?

Do not get any facial waxing the day before or the day of your wedding!!!!!! You do not want any unexpected/unwanted surprises before your big day. Waxing of the face is best done 2 – 3 days prior to your wedding day. Makeup might not adhere to freshly waxed skin.

Why should I choose Airbrushing over traditional makeup?

Unlike traditional makeup, airbrushing feels completely weightless on your skin.
I use a HD professional airbrush makeup (Graftobian cosmetics) that is used on many TV sets, magazines, movies…

The benefits of Airbrush makeup are :
It’s hygienic – no sponges or powder puffs are used
HD makeup will lasts up to 16 hours
It’s lightweight and gives a natural, flawless look
It wont rub off or transfer
HD airbrush makeup is formulated to withstand the scrutiny of the ultra-closeups.
HD airbrush is water based and silicone free!

What is HD makeup?

HD makeup is makeup of such a high quality that it allows a makeup artist to easily create a look that will be read through an HD camera to yield a flawless and natural look. HD cameras are capable of reading the slightest amount of streaking and speckling that might occur if using inferior makeup products

Why should I choose Traditional makeup over Airbrushing?

Some people prefer a heavy coverage, if so, not a problem we got you ‘covered’ (yes that’s a pun!)
If you have large or deep pores, then traditional makeup might be for you.

At your makeup trial I will suggest which method, traditional, airbrushed or a bit of both will suit you and your Catwalk Event.
